This is really interesting (new owner info)
Have any of you guys done any legwork yet on who the new owners are? I'd like to compare notes. This is what I've got so far-
Ekool = John Gonzalez, possibly of Alamogordo NM, or Toronto Canada. He at least lived in New Mexico at one time as he founded an ISP there (http://www.tularosa.net). At one time or another he had this e-mail address-

This is what he looks like (he's the dude, I think)-
He is listed as the President of AutoForums. They've got nice bios here-

The whois on their servers gives a Toronto address, and they've at least got a business located there.
Ok, so who actually owns Autoforums? As listed on the above page, and also here-

a company called VerticalScope actually owns Autoforums. VerticalScope is interesting. They either started or owned Modified Mag until Feb of this year when they sold it the Primedia Group (you know, the guys who own Sport Compact Car and just about every other now crappy car magazine. I'm not sure what else they own, its hard to tell. At least publicly they advertise to own tons of car based forums, and other stuff like TopHosts.Com. I'm guessing they suppliment their income with spam too.
Very corporate.
