Thread: Can you guys please answer this ??

hi, i drive a 91 B13 Se-R, i have the stock DE in it and i have a question regarding the EGR, BPT valve, AIV, Oil separator, and resonator. i look at all the under the hood possibilities and i like what u guys are doing, but when i look through the pictures i see that some of you guys have none of these things. can someone please tell me if

1. is this legal and does it effect emissions as in will i still pass

2. how can i do this to make it function without these things

one person on this forum told me that the VE VC has the oil separator built in to it. but what do i do for everything else.

I can give you a simple answer, inspection stations that test emissions test vehicles as they are built to come out of the factory so the machine they use is set to read certain specs so any mod you do under the hood will probably effect the emissions in one way or the other. I think the only way to know is to go for it, worse case you are out like 15 bucks. Maybe someone else has a concrete answer.

You need to get an EGR blockoff kit. Search the forums for one. I'm not sure if you will still pass emissions testing. Thank God for Minnesota where we don't have any of that.

depends where you live. california..probably not because they have under hood inspections, washington state is fine, they just do tailpipe checks. i dont have any emissions stuff besides a cat i i pass with flying colors. the key is to retard your timing a couple degrees to light the cat off before you go.
