RR CAI on VVL?
Hey I bought this CAI on this forum and the seller was great. Got it so quick and its pretty nice. AOK.

Unfortunately there is no bung for idle air bypass. So my question;

Is this a RR only cai? I've had 4 other HS CAIs and 2 were lowport but they all had 3 bungs on the primary pipe.

Anyone have some recommended reading for either making this work or installing an iacv bung? I'll post up some better pics later but here is the sellers pic.

Got an easy $5 fix for you . It's a 5/8's coolant tee from AutoZone.

RR's have the IACV on the TB. You have a spot for the IAT, right?

I've never had a RR SR20..... P11/B15 is on my bucket list but I had no idea HS made a RR specific intake. There's no iat on ve or B13. The secondary pipe has a hole for it but I'm going to cover that up

Perfect idea V. Thanks for the help everyone.

On another subject my VE starts pretty hard. Idles at like 2200 or even 2500 sometimes for like 15-20 seconds before settling to 15-1800 which is normal and settles in at about 900 which is perfect.

I'm concerned about hard starts and the rod bearings. Is this concern valid or is that normal for a VE?

Also the car hunts pretty hard on decel for lights stops etc. again 1500-2000 rpm sometimes higher. It will swing about a dozen times and settle to 900.

What is that all about? I think its coolant temp sensor stuff because that (like everything on this car) has some weird wiring. Any ideas questions input is appreciated. thanks again.

for the first one, you need to adjust the allen head thing on the TB that is for the built in thing idk what to call it but when its cold it opens the TB more.. just need to adjust that down..

this thread should help http://www.sr20-forum.com/vvl/44294-cold-rev-really-high.html

as for hunting that can usually be solved with properly setting the timing / idle with the laptop

Cool. I havent reset the timing since I swapped the distro but now that I know it wasnt the problem I may change back to the original one.

Josh when you come bye can you bring the consult cable so we can set the timing?

I forgot about that throttle screw. The thing is totally disabled which I remember seeing but the car has had so many issues I hadn't gotten to setting it. thanks. Remember I have a B14 SE-R throttle body on there.
