Thread: 3rd gone 5th on its way out

I have a 1992 se-r JDM SR20DE+T. On wednesday night I was racing an SRT-4. ( on a closed course) I had 4 people in my car and when going from a 60 pull, i ripped out 3rd gear. 5th gear pop out happened randomly before also. I had done a few searches and must not being using the advanced search correctly.

I want to put a transmission in by monday. What years can i use? I can most likely find any year transmission local through the shop i work in. If i can upgrade using a later year, i would love to do that. even if i have to swap cases, clutch engagement, etc. Whats recommended to hold up best to boost? Im planning on trashing my T28, JWT ECU, Manifold, Cams, and supporting mods this winter to overhaul and upgrade my setup. Dont want to deal with trans issue's next spring.

Never heard of a closed course allowing more than 1 or 2 people in a car, why would you race on a closed course with 4 people anyway

g20's and se-r's have different gears so keep that in mind.

If you are planning on upgrading later in the future, most definitely get the P11 transmission. It'll required just a little bit of grinding on some of the linkage for clearances, but it will totally be worth it.

Get a P11. It held up great with my GT2871R on high boost. But I did break the 2nd gear synchro on stock boost with a T28. Lol

p11 is lsd out of b15?

lol, a p11 is a G20, i think you want the 01-02 trans if im not mistaken..

the b15 is a sentra an im not sure which years trans are better or if they are all the same.

pretty sure theres a difference in gearing tho
