B13 LSD Axle with P11 trans
hey guys,

so i'm trying to get my b13 LSD axle into the p11 trans I got. The driver side axle won't go in all the way.

this is the axle

this is where it stops.

from my measurements as to where it's getting stopped, the circled part is the one that won't go through

am i doing something wrong? b14 and b13 LSD axles are interchangeable and marksr20 had a set of b14 axles on it. so why won't this b13 lsd fit?

any help is appreciated. would like to get this trans in this weekend or by monday.

Mine work just fine in my P11. Make sure you are out of gear, or if you have the other side in already try turning it and then trying again.

can you get another drivers side axle to try out? im wondering if that is an lsd axle

I think it was in neutral when I gave it to you, I honestly hope not because that would be an easy fix. The pass side slid right in.

double checked if it was in neutral. gave it a couple wacks and it went in. but it's still not sitting flush. has about 2mm gap between the seal and large part of the axle. don't know if that's normal or not.

you guys are awesome with the quick responses!

That little gap is normal. It's gonna have a small gap.

That gap in the picture is not normal, it has to go in another 3/4- 1in more

Your not past the snap ring. The snap ring at the end of the splined shaft is holding you back. Especially if it has expanded at all it might take a good wack to get it to pop in. Put the axle nut on and take a block of wood and put it on top of that, compress the joints to where they bottom out and then take a mallet and give it a good wack until it pops in.

The snap rings like to expand out after they have been installed and removed a couple times. Just takes a bit more effort to pop it in. But yes it needs to go in further.

Correct. That gap in the pitcture is not normal, but the 2mm gap after he gave it a few wacks is.
