Burnt cams:( ?
My basically all stock Nx2000 is getting burn marks on the cams lobes, but like only on one side of the lobe, and its on the intake and exhaust cams. Is this something i should watch carefully? or do you think just changing oil lots and not revving too high will keep it in control? i can add a picture later today if it helps.

cam oil tubes might be clogged. I would remove the valve cover and the oil tubes and clean them or replace them.

They have a revised part. The oil holes are larger on the new part. I would get the updated part rather than clean something that is too small and probably at this point, dirty anyway.

The oilers were not mroe than $30 and it will save the entire engine. Win-win if you can swing it!!!! Otherwise, if it burns up something it will cost way more than $30 to repair or replace.

^^^ That or just clean them. Ive had one clog and ruin a set of cams. Its just the one of those things alot of people forget to mention when slapping a motor tog.

clean.... NO DRILL...... Metal shavings = fail

you can get a small scribe to clear the holes if they're coked up..but do not drill.

Flush the inside w carb cleaner and make sure all four holes squirt....

that's a temporary fix..odds are they will clog again...

IIRC its like $35 for a new set, haven't priced in a while though.

I always replace these when I build an engine...like mentioned above...it would suck to ruin a $500+ set of cams for $35-50 in parts that protect them LOL
