what about this?? AFR prob...
My car is a B13 with a SR20VE in it, Tuned ECU with a bin downloaded from here for SR20VE, DE MAF, VE INJ and SR16 CAMS. Ok my situation is my idle afrs are from 14.3 to 16.2 up and down, but whenever i turn the A/C ON or the FANS turn on because of the temp the AFR's go directly to 10.7 and even 10.0!! what could be causing this??

- what first comes to my mind is a faulty coolant sensor? am i right??
- or something not right with the bin... i have to check the V readings also from the MAF at idle which i can check on the VAFC but i dont think is the MAF.

- Also when i installed the SR16 cams a few days ago, the friend who installed them used the consult to check what changes in the map when i turn the a/c on and nothing changed.

any info or recommendation is welcome!

Thanks in advance!

Like Forced Compression said, it sounds like the IACV / FICD is not opening.

im almost 100% is not that because the problem is always when i turn the a/c on or when the fans go on with the temp other than that the afrs are fine... thats why i dont think is that but i will clean and check it tommorrow

Mechanism #3) IACV/FICD (Idle Air Control Valve/Fast Idle Control Device). This is the third part of the general idle control assembly. This valve is an on/off valve used by the ECU to raise the idle when the A/C is on and/or when the power steering pressure is high (during full lock).

The fans put a pretty decent load on the alternator, i wouldn't be suprised to find that this is used to raise idle when the fans run as well.

ok i unsderstand that but the idle raise when i turn the a/c on, but a few seconds after the afrs start to go rich obviously affecting the idle, but the first thing that happens when i turn the a/c on is raise the idle so i dont think is that but anyways will check that... Thanks!

You haven't mentioned that until now.
