Thread: 6 Speed Instalation

Hey i know maybe this is a little left field but i did a search before i asked (dont have time to comb through threads) So i broke of the bolts that hold on my rear mount and ive sourced a 6 speed trans from a spec-v ,few questions
#1 Will it work with my car
#2 should i just take the casing and run
#3 Do you think my Lsd from my NX work if i use it

you won't have to change your hub for the spec axles.

#1 : Yes.
#2 : Casing prob won't help you. It isn't the same as the 5 speed. Not clear on what you mean.
#3 : The LSD will work from the NX as long as you have the 4.176 Final drive gear. Which, being a p11 should have the correct unit. But your LSD will NOT work in the 6 speed.

Why not use the Mazworx QR 6 speed conversion kit:

The LSD from the NX will bolt up to any 32 series gear box no matter the FD ratio. I am maybe 90% sure the LSD from a 32 series box will work on 70 series box.

The only thing that is important is that both gear boxes are LSD.

I used the whole diff out of a 32v trans and put it in my 70v. It works perfect. Same unit. IIRC the only different final drives are the B15 and the SR16, which share the 4.4 right?

also to add i still have my nx axles so at least i can take em to the store for fresh ones or should i tell em i want it for the "T"?
