My "aftermarket" IACV.. :)
I know I'm not the only one on here to do this (99-SEL did?), but I thought I would post up some pics of my "aftermarket" IACV.
I bought a 12$ plumbing valve from the hardware store and put it right on the air reg outlet. I believe my air regulator valve is stuck open and I know my IACV is garbage, so as soon as I get the chance, I'm going to remove the air reg valve and remove and block off the OEM IACV and just run the end of the air reg hose into a small opening over there.
As of right now, this valve allows me to quickly adjust idle from around 800 or so up to around 1300. I expect those limits to expand once I clear the rest of the sh*t out of there too.
Not only is it fast and easy, but it provides a rock solid and smooth idle 24/7!!
The only drawback I have found is that the engine will want to die if you let off the gas too quickly before the car is warmed up. After it's warmed up, it works perfectly fine.
Plus it looks b*tchin!!
