I'm glad that fixes ur problem, but I believe the IACV is needed. However u can just adjust the throttle plate rest set screw and be good to go.

I just removed my iavc yesterday and the only problem i am having is on cold start ups. In the moring i have to stay in the car for about 2 min with my foot on the gas slightly. usually once the needle gets to the line where the letter c is the car will idle fine. Is there any other way to make the car idle better? I already messed with the throttle stop screw, the tps and the dec air function on my safc, which helped alot. But cold start up still isnt great.

On a de is everyone who has removed the iacv getting rid of the other valve directly under the intake manifold? Its the one with the 2 large air lines going to it. Right now i have that piece still hooked up and the smaller nipple that is in the middle facing the firewall capped off.

So here's my little addition to the equation.. I've been lookin into all different types of setups an ways to go about doin this..

So from what I have been reading puttin the valve in seems to do the trick for idling an such.. But there's the pesky cold start problem.. Well instead of sittin there butterflyin the throttle to keep it running Why not just hook a manual choke cable up to the valve??

That way you could just open the valve from inside the car and idle it down when its warm... I'm sure you could rig it up so it stops at a preset point so you don't have to search for the sweet spot.. I will be tryin to do this SOON an will post up some pics

you guys can also look into getting nismo thermostats for quicker cold starts, this will allow you to speed up the warm up process in cold starts which i feel would help

I have the nismo which helps, but when it actually is a bit cold outside it still takes a while to warm up.

ok so to report back, the whole valve things worthless.. just adjust the idle with the throttle body.. simple, easy and most importantly.. FREE

since doing this my idles been flawless.. at first i was runnin a goofy bin an something wasnt right with it, but when i loaded a known workin one all my idle problems went away by just adjusting the timing with a timing gun and setting the idle with the TB screw.. it doesnt try to die at stop lights or stop signs any more.. or when im pulling into a drive way.. none of that crap.. it doesnt surge up or down it stays put right where i set it..
