Eff that lol, I'm all for the simplified things. You can't beat one hose controlled manually. None of this ECU idle control garbage to cause trouble! This will look even better if I used a longer hose and ran it under the mani where the OEM air reg goes. Plus, I can now remove and block the IACV port more easily which will clean it up over there even more.

what bout routing it into the cabin? you could control it manually from the dash or under the dash or something long those lines? that would be petty cool, and VERY efficent as far as eae of use and ease of adjtability of your idle, verses popping the hood to get a certain rpm...might be a good idea if you get cold start problems, in cabin adjustabiity would be soooo sufficent in cold weather

Yea the cold start thing is still an issue but it really only lasts for about 2 minutes and then it's fine. On that note, Gt287 a friend of mine suggested I use an electronic boost controller setup (or basically just an electronic valve) that I could even set up for more than one setting (cold start, warm engine, throttle, etc). Haven't though about it too much since I'm broke but I think it would be neat (although expensive) to give something like that a try.

I think it would be a little tricky to actually run a vacuum line through the cabin. I think the engine would have trouble getting the air in that situation just because of the length and curviness of hose that would be required. I am sure you could do some sort of crazy mechanical switch though using more lines if you thought about it hard enough haha.

The VE engine has a mechanical cold start mechanism on the throttle body. I wonder if this would work perfectly on a VE.

Haha if so I'll bet it would. Then I'm sure you could still have a perfect cold start

Back from the dead.. I am so going to do this!!! To bad I have a de tb on my car tho.. I may run some sorta choke cable or something for the cold starts.. Until I get a new tps for my ve tb anyway..

a electronic valve like on a boost controller is a idea that might work something that would allow for more air to get through start up enrichme thendown to base idle

it makes me laugh how close that description is to the premise of an IACV.
