speed sensor gear fell in tranny
The plastic gear on the end of my speed sensor came off and is in the transmission. I'm not sure how I will be able to take it out. Should I be worried that it will get caught in the gears and ruin my transmission, or will it just stay in that general area and not cause any serious damage?

It will probably do some damage... I suggest you try to get it out

yeah you will need to get it out. See if you can see down in there and see it. They make a pickup tool that has a claw on the end that can grab stuff. Thats probably your best bet to attempt to get it without pulling the trans. If not then pull the trans and flip it upside down to see if you can get it back out of the speedo hole. If not then you will have to pull the rear case which isnt very hard to do if your mechanicly inclined at all.

Time to crack open that tranny buddy. You may be able to get away without pulling the tranny, but u will have to drain the fluid, if its small it may come out with the fluid. If not you will have to pull the tranny and crack her open.

the gear is too big to fit out of it but maybe if he drains it he can see it easier since its level... hmm...

Drain the tranny fluid first and try to use a pickup tool through the drain plug

I guess I will have to take the tranny out. It's nearly impossible to see in that hole while the tranny is connected to the engine and the car. The gear is nearly as big as the hole, so I will probably have to take it apart as well then. Thanks.
