Thread: Oil Pan Gasket Maker?

hence why i said to look for another source, lol. Seen it way too many times. The oil when it drips down likes to travel along the lip of the lower pan making it look like a pan leak.

Exactly what happened. Pan wasn't even leaking at all. :o

I was like no way you should be having leaks after that many attempts at it.

If only I didn't break that bolt off . I'm not even going to try and take that bolt out. It's not leaking, so I guess i'm good for now. That right stuff is tough stuff .

usually the bolt breaks off leaving enought to grab when the lower pan is off. Ive had a buddy break a couple. usually sticking out just enough to grab them with your finger or a small pair of pliers. They are pretty loose in there so you can usually turn it out easily. But yeah with the lower pan on best way is an easy out or rh drill bit. RH drill bit should get it out very quickly like i said they are pretty loose after they break. If you do it just make sure you drill in the center of the bolt so you dont mess the threads up.

You could probably get it out with a rh drill bit depending on which bolt it was. The holes go through the pan completely on most of them so if its one of those you can probably hit it with a regular drill bit and spin it out the top.

So the bit grabs the bolt and spins it out? What size bit do I need?

Basicly, since its loose in there as the bit is trying to cut into it, it will end up spinning it out. If its tight then the bit will actually start drilling into it. Then you could just use an easy out. Gonna need a pretty small bit. Use as small of a bit as you can and try to get right on the center of the bolt. Its gonna be tough though especially if it broke with an angle on it.
