Tried it last weekend with ultra gray, got the pan and mating surface spotless, let it cure for 24 hours but it leaked. I think my problem was that since my car was jacked from the front, all the left over oil from the motor ran to the back, and dripped into the mating surface not letting it cure 100 % Ripped it off yesterday and started again with ultra black, we'll see how it goes!

Let me know how it works, Ultra Black failed as well, maybe my pan is bent or more oil is still dripping, I cleaned it amazing block and pan, Checked to see if the edges of the pan were bent, layed a nice bead down, bolted it up just to see it start squeezing, let it sit for an hour, tightened it down and let it sit over for 20-24 hours. Same spot got me again!

I just finished up with the right stuff grey today. I'll let it sit over night and fill her back up tomorrow. That ultra grey that I used last Tuesday was still wet . Guess I used too much.

Permatex Right Stuff Gray. Ultra Stuff has been too messy for me.

You do not need to let it sit overnight. It is good to go pretty quickly after it is set in place....even says so on the bottle.

McKanica - Revolutionary Aerosol Dispensers - Max Gray Silicone

I read about this stuff in Chriscars vvl write-up a few years back and it works pretty good for me.

Otherwise I use OEM or ultra grey.

Failed again. Still leaking from the same spot . Not to mention I broke a bolt on the oil pan. It ain't leaking from that spot though, go figure.
How the hell do I get that bolt out?

Hmmm, I wonder if our beads are bad? I just do a nice ribbon bead down the groove, and surround the bolt holds. I figure the only way to get that out is to use a tap? or is it sticking out a little and you can get pliers on it? whatever you do be careful with the block you know

I don't even want to mess with it anymore. I'm afraid i'll make it worse.
