Thread: Transmission question

When I bought my NX2K it wasn't running(overheated/blown HG/sludge), so I towed it home, and now that I have my VE and everything else to get it running, I have no clue if it has any issues with 5th gear

Is there any way to check before I put it all back together, and have to take it out later?
Or do I have to take it to a shop to get it checked? ($200 just to open it up )

There are write ups that should give you an idea of what you are looking for if you do decide to open it up yourself. I believe theyre in the how to sections. tsuruser's write up will explain to you how to seperate the cases. I swapped the internals in my trans to another case using that write up and everything went smooth. Theres a link in that thread to another one that should show you what your looking for once you get it apart.
