Clutch Cable Alternative?
Well, I have broken my 3rd clutch cable in the last 4 months and I don't know what to do. Is there a stronger alternative or am I just going to have to keep dropping bills on ****ty OEM ones? I'm only running an ACT HD pressure plate. Kind of frustrated, input welcome.

Well the one today seemed to just stretch out a bit and I know its on the verge of breaking. They usually break right in the middle of the braided steel or somewhere close to the middle.

I've broken 3 in the last six months. The one I have installed right now is about to bust. I have a beck/arnley next in line for a replacement.

So far: 2 oem cables, 1 advance auto brand (i know they suck), and currently working on my 3rd oem cable. Any replacements or aftermarket upgraded ones out there?

BTW JGY pp with stock disk.

you guys must have something wrong or not installing it right or something, i have had the same one that i believe is the original one, i have had the act extreem pp in there since the beginning of december, right after i put it in the cable stretched and i had to put the spacer in there to get enough adjustment, im waiting for it to go, i have two oem brand new ones for spares if it ever does.

wasn't there a GB for some heavy duty clutch cables? It was a couple of years ago but you might want to search for the company that made these and give them a try.

Never mind on my hypothesis.

"This is not gonna work. I dont have confidence that the cable will last. Here is what you can try. Get an OEM cable take it to a machine shop an have them press on a couple new fittings on a larger diameter cable, then slide it back into the jacket. This is all I could do for a cost effective alternative. The jacket may still break, and I am not sure if the cable will hold up, I don't want to risk selling crap on the forum... Lock this thread, sorry for the waste of time."

this is the last post by goneturbo on the other sr20forum. goneturbo was the leader of the GB.
