General Fuel Pressure Question
Hi, everyone, i`m sorry if this is in the wrong section
I have a 97 200sx SE-R;
But my question is about adjusting the fuel pressure, i have a sard FPR, but my main concern is when moving the psi while the car is on idle, do i have to disconect the vacum hose before? is this is correct? and why is it done this way?? i understand that the oem fuel pressure is 40 psi?

I know this may be a newbie question but i know u guys are always willing to help jeje

thanks!!

Yes base fuel pressure is usually set with the vacume disconected. It's dine this way because when vacuum is applied to the regulator it lowers the fuel pressure just the opposite when you add boost the fuel pressure rises.

Standard fuel pressure is 3 bar which is ~ 44psi (i think specifically like 43.8 or something i've read before). Definitely a bit higher than 40.0 though.

ok thanks a lot for your answers!

i have a NOS wet kit installed 75hp, how much fuel pressure do you have to increase when running with this kind of kit, i've seen some people with 55psi?? but with the wet kit we are adding fuel as well? and i know that a wideband or afm should be helpful, just to know what u think
