If you are handy and not abusive either would be a good choice. I had a VE then boosted it still have it on boost with ac, ps, etc. Not a problem and I usually pounce on this car everyday until recently.

Damn that sucks, seems pretty common nowadays. Guess it just depends on the owner, shop, and luck. Believe there have been instances where everything has been done right but random shit happens, murphy's law.

did you have any issues putting the VE in your car, what did you use for ecu and cam switch box P10?

I have a basic board done by Gio. Using an msd 8969(I no longer recommend) for VVL activation. My car is originally a 1.6 SE, dropped in a DE then slapped a VE head on it, last came the boost. I have to admit, I really didn't do most of the work, Gio did it. lol

Probally not because ur further east to, instead of going up in idaho they had to ship it to portland oregon, and then to me in vancouver wa, so instead it would go from idaho straight to washington so it might even be cheaper. All i know is jdm engine zone has a good reputation and everyone here has seemed happy with them so far.
