Content Concern
I had a thought earlier today. Ok the vibe is that we came over here to keep our community from being raped by corporate influences. Now if we are to grow new content on this site, what will prevent our research and write ups from being copy and pasted to the other site. I'm sure ekool can set up some spy accounts if he hasn't already.

What would prevent our possible new content from being posted on our old once glorious home?

Honestly, nothing.

I don't see a problem with people, the people who post the content, cross posting to other forum.

There is no reason these two places should have to "compete" against each other.

It does not have to be an "Us vs. Them" kind of thing.

any new content posted on this site is either
a. property of the respective poster
or
b. property of the site admin

depending on who you ask.

either way it is not free for Ekool to use

I do belive in that the content is of the poster or respective forum, but i dont think we should make this a competition, sure things are going downhill on the other forum, but that doesnt mean we have to maek it a competition, things will set themselves out naturally.

I say, if you made the post, you can copy it here. If you made the post here, you can copy it there.

Oh no its not about competition. Thats not what I meant. I agree that if you want to post here or there its up to you. My reasoning was that some members including me did not like the fact that this guy ekool would now be making money off of our info that we put together. Shieeet if he's gonna be making money off of it why not have us get a piece right. LOL. The super douche move was the removal of edit . It is obviously important information to him otherwise he wouldn't prevent us from removing it.

ANyways if most of the hardcore se-r guys come over here, then all the new development will take place here. How would new content created here stay here assuming that the owner of the information only wanted it to be part of this new forum.

I seriously doubt that a corporate manager like that is going to spend his time copying site content to the other site. I'm sure that he as already sold his ads based on the site's history of popularity and pretty much forgotten sr20forum even exists. I would be surprised if he even knew what information would be worth copying anyways.

How to's , power adding content, road racing info, suspension info would probably be what I would go for if I was gonna be the spy.

Your right though it would be a total waste of time for him to do it. Of course some people could be paid to spy lol. Get some guys at like 7 buck an hour, and tell them to go copy and paste. LOL

A good example of e jacking would be what happened to that guy with the 350 SE-L. I remember some jackass posed the info as his own and started getting props for it on some other site, lol. Was funny how the poser got caught and then owned.

Only place you are going to get that kind of help is the corner next to The Home Depot and my money says they are not that computer literate.

My stuff is all over the net. If the person who takes it doesnt take credit for it, I don't have a problem with it. I get mad when they claim they wrote it. I usualy send them a stop it letter and in every case they cooperate. I havent gotten hardcore, I ask that they either take themselfs off as author or give me credit and let them use my stuff for free.
