you shouldn't dismiss this fact so easily... sounds like you're washing down your cylinders because you're running way too much fuel (your ecu thinks its sending a signal to a 259cc injector when really its sending that same signal to an injector that flows way more). If you drain your oil and its greenish in hue and smells like gas you are severely washing down your cylinders. This is bad for a lot of reasons... Don't go by what other people say they have done or what you're heard...find your own answer for your specific condition...

Oh I am well aware of this, I just have to get out to the shop to get a chipped ecu and go from there.

I definitely understand what you are saying and I will be getting a tune asap before I do more damage than I may already have.

Also, I popped the hood on my wifes car and smelled in her motor and it almost smelled the same, maybe not as severe. My issue is I havnt messed with a gas motor in a while, I work on diesels all day and my previous vehicle was a 02 dodge 2500 cummins.. so my nose may be a lil off. But yes I do need a tune asap cus I know I am running rich due to the inj size. I will update tomorrow night, and baby it to work and back.

too much fuel...no biggie. Change your oil and fix the problem. I've had to do this a couple times in early tuning on a car.

So your compression was good, never had any issues from wash out?

^^ What he said. Too much fuel from ECU/injector combo. If you have an adjustable FPR you can dial back the fuel pressure a few PSI temporarily. Also, while you are waiting to get your ECU and tune you should put your car in timing mode and set the base timing to 18-20* while you are waiting to get your swap tuned. You can advance the timing safely provided you are running 91/92 or higher octane fuel, which I'm sure you are as you should be anyway with a VE. This should help a bit.

I'm sure your compression is probably fine. Like the guys said, check your oil evryday till you get it tuned. If the oil is washed out a bit and running low, then you should worry. Running rich for a while isn't usually a huge deal.

Change your oil again.

Also, you'd be surprised how many times on many many "properly" tuned cars, you would smell a bit of gas when you remove the oil filler cap.

Warm compression test on my VE produced 215-220 PSI across the board.

I just did the compression test, all between 200 and 210... and this was taken on a pretty warm engine.

I changed my plugs this past friday and I noticed the top of piston #3 was wet and the other were not. When I pulled my plugs tonight, same thing, #3 piston was wet. And my plugs all look the same accept #3 plug is def more brown than the rest. Im thinking valve seals...? And I am not liking the way these plugs are looking at all, just don't look normal to me. Ill try to post a pic.

Ah, this morning on my way to work i had a nasty boggin/hesitation and it was progressively worse from 0 to 1/4 throttle then is woke up.. so i popped the hood when i got to work and noticed one of the bolts on the intake mani holding one of the harness grounds was backed out and ready to fall out. So I tightened it up and its alot better now.

make sure the injector is not leaking on #3. Pull the rail and then prime the pump. there should be no fuel coming out of the injectors.

These are my plugs I've been running since fri the 9th.. they don't look normal to me, how about you guys??

Also, is it possible I can get away with just turning the distributer to change my timing? I don't have a timing light.
