Thread: Need Short Shifter Help

im looking to buy a short shifte for my b13 but i dont want a shifter that sits to high . i like my shifters low .

post your short shiter info and pics .
this will help me out to pick out which onei would buy .

Modify the stock to make a short through and cut off the top to desired length.

my NX has a cut shifter and at first i hated it but after driving a sentra with a stock one i love my chopped one....LOL
still hate that it hits my cup holders when they're open tho....LOL

Cut and re-weld it then push the ball up

Wouldn't want that shift lever to be too close the the steering wheel or anything, amiright?

This is the cheapest way.
If you just cut it and dont move the ball,it will just be harder to shift(less leverage).
If you move the ball and just cut the top you will have a shorter throw,but the threads will be gone so you would have to use a crappy universal knob,not a threaded one.I would recommend you cut and reweld as pictured if you want to keep the threads.

Personally I have a stock shifter modded,but I like the height the way it is.I hate them too short on these cars.
My hand just falls perfectly from the steering wheel to the shifter like this.
I dont use the cupholders anyway

how much did u cut off your shifter .

personally I would look for a pacesetter/stillen/smc shifter or a B&M.

Greg V has short shifters.

With the pacesetter not available anymore if I did another one I would just modify the stock shifter by moving the ball. I don't see a reason for short throw shifters to even exist for our cars really since moving the ball is an option.
