From what I understand, you won't gain any WHP or Torque, but it allows you to shift your power curve.

So say right now you have the most power from 4k rpm to 7k rpm. You can shift the that power to begin from 3k, but then top end would be weaker, etc.

Thats how I seen it explained, but it could def. be completely different

You can gain HP or tq if you are using cams with a big lift like BC stage 3 or jwt C series. Setting some overlap contributes to the scavenging effect (leaving the exh. cams open slightly for part of the intake stroke can create a vacuum effect helping draw in more intake air.)

They're good for reducing unwanted overlap on forced induction applications, as well. (At least, this is what I'm told they're good for on FI)

you will gain hp na more then you think. I have seen a 5 to 10 hp gain by just playing with then intake cam gear on Charle's GTIR na set up. If you know what you are doing and have dyno time I would get them and just find out what works best with you set up.

Interesting!

I might just look into them too. I know Auto guys get a good benefit out of them because they don't have to redline the auto tranny to get the power.

Look at this post and read down
