Some are made in china. I actually looked the last time I was there. The old highport ones were still made in Japan, but I didn't look at the newer lowport ones. I did see the one that they use for alot of the newer ones and it it made in china. WTF?..........That's what I said to the guy in the service dept.

Son of a bitch! Well, I just checked my stock. I have 5, made in Japan, new old stock, OEM filters. At 4K-5K miles a year I'll be good for quite some time.

BTW, based on my service records my '92 has had genuine OEM filters since it had about 15K on the clock and it still has it's original timing chain tensioner with zero rattle. Any correlation? I can't say, but at very least it does my heart good to see a pretty, white OEM filter hanging off the side.... like the teet of mother Nissan feeding it's young.

Otherwise the car is out of commissioin until the filter dries?????
No thanks.

EXACTLY! its reusable..........but an oil change will take 4 hours because the last thing you want is water and soap mixed with your oil!

ill stick to my $11 pure one (once my stock of OEM subie filters runs out........in a year or two lol)

Just picked up a Bosch filter, Autozone had a deal with 5 quarts of German Castrol and Bosch filter for $30. I noticed that the Bosch filter doesn't have an oil stopper like the STP ones do. Advance Auto's Purulator's also don't seem to have them. Guess I'll be sticking to the $4.50 STP's myself too.

This is just my opinion, but i would rather eat my own shit then use one of those. I use Amsoil and there filters and i havent had a problem with one yet. 15k miles on a oil change. have had 3 oil changes since i started using it and i have seen a good result from using it

I have a question,
Hows your oil look after 15,000? Have you sent it off to be tested?
I do 5,000 mile changes, but I am not comfortable with 15,000 mile changes with any oil.
