Thread: EGR tube for sr20de

I got an aftermarket exhaust and header. I cannot get the egr tube nut to come off of the old header to get it out of the car. I have tried multiple things and still nothing.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement tube. I have found the nuts for the tube but not the tube itself. Will contact dealer tomorrow but any suggestions would be helpful. thanks.

A junkyard is going to be your best bet. That nut is a bitch to get loose. I ended up using a torch to heat it up, then grabbing it with two pairs of channel locks to break it loose.

I had the same problem that tube is only $30-$40. You can go to your local Nissan dealer or get it at Gspec.com

I had to soak mine in penetrating oil overnight. Make sure to use a good wrench too. Channel-locks will work, but a good solid wrench will be easier.

are you guys loosening or completely taking off the back end before trying to undo the nut at the header? If not then I suggest you do as it makes this job alot easier. Or at least it has in the couple of times I needed to remove a tube. To get back on was a game of tightening one side a little then the other and repeating until all was snug.

Used penetrating oil, let it sit over night, torched it the next night then had it cool down, then resoaked with penetrating oil for one more night. Nut spun right off the next day.
