Thread: separating a cv joint

Whats the best way to sepatate an old cv joint?

I want the axle ends off an old pair I have laying around to use for rolling a chassis around without a motor.
Can I just use a BFH and whack the shit out of it,or what??

If you mean removing it from the actual half-axle: Just give it a good whack, it's secured with a c-clip.

I just had to put a new boot on my pass inner. It has a big circlip near the edge. The outer is a little different though. They have some good vids on youtube for rebuilding them. That's what I did before I touched mine.
