Thread: Horn questions b14

I have a 98 sentra se, it has no horn or relays for the horn, I took a test light and stuck it in the prongs where the relay would normally be (in relay box on passenger side), of the 3 prongs I found the power going into the plug and I get nothing from the other 2, even with the key on and pressing the horn button, I should get something coming from the one when I press the horn button correct?

Could someone with a 98 (horn is in different locations in other years, not sure if the wiring is the same) check their wires at the relay and let me know which wires are which? I'm trying to figure out if the wiring is correct or if I just need to rewire the car

The signal going to the horn relay is a ground, not 12v to trigger the relay. Hook the clamp of the test light to the positive battery post and test again. One should go to ground when the horn is pressed, key on or not.
