Is this Possible On an SR? IAT Resistor Mod

Sounds interesting!

I'm wondering if that could make use of our AMB Sensors...

isnt that sensor a air temperature sensor or something like that?

I had asked about the IATS a little while back, in the turbo section

The IAT (AIT) sensor in no way actually helps the ECU as far as tuning management, according to FSM. It's only used for OBD diagnostics.

You turbo guys should share the info with everyone else

You should pick up an FSM and read!

Lol, they did already

Even if our IAT did affect the ECU A/F mixture, the IAT trick would be identical to upgrading your FPR. You would have worse mileage due to extra fuel injection. In addition, like the guy said on that site, we have learning ECU's and probably within a week it would be back to normal because the ECU would be reading constantly rich readings from the 02 sensor.

It's more expensive, but SAFC is a better bet!

Of course now thinking about it, does anyone know why the ECU doesn't just end up readjusting for the extra fuel added via SAFC? Maybe the air flow takes priority over the 02 sensor reading?????

Never given that one any thought before

This is that I think

The input from the system to the ECU is disguised, in that the SAFC actually bumps the fuel, but still sends the "stock" values to the ECU. This way, the ECU thinks everything is just as normal as can be. Of course, the o2 sensor will say that you're rich, and attempt to adjust your AFR, however with more fuel, comes more air. (I think?)

So technically, your car knows nothing about the TRUE values, other than what the SAFC tells it.

I don't know much about SAFC though, so I could be way wrong here.

Right, but the SAFC only changes the airflow signal, so the ECU does the actual mixture adjustment. The ECU would still read rich on the 02 though which is what confuses me. It seems like the only way for it to work would be that the MAF sensor takes priority over the 02 sensor as far as mixture goes. Where's Calum
