Get a digital multimeter. They're really cheap at Harbor Freight and are pretty easy to use. As to specifics I can't remember what you need to do but I'm sure you can find it searching.

If your plugs are white then that is lean. Also the vtc selonoid turns off at about 3k and turns back on at 6200rpm, highly coincidental. Check the vtc selonoid, all it is a power and ground.

My b14 does this too..white on the spark plugs too...

From this past week my personal jerking and bogged out power range was do to low timing.

how do i check the vtc solenoid exactly...

Well so did I. Then I did it not in timing mode and corrected perfectly.
