Thread: Brake Question

So recently I bought a set of AD22 brakes for the SER, everything looks great,just one tiiiiiny issue. The smaller of the 2 bolts on the torque member goes in tight as hell(thats what she said,haha), how do i solve this problem? The other side slides in/out(haha) with no issues....
Same issue for both torque members.

Take something small and clean it out. Dental pik/etc.

Hold up, they have relief valves on the back? Can you take that off?

Mine was like that too. I sprayed brake clean in there real good. Then I worked some moly/lithium grease in there real good. I had to keep wiping rusty orange grease off the pin til it came out clean. It helped alot.

i actually think its rubber all the way threw, and i dont want to break the rubber if it does go all the way...



brake cleaner was my next step i was courious what everyone else did...

go to centric order their reman calipers (good as new) for 60 bucks, problem always solved

X2 the rubber swells over time and makes it impossible for the pins to slide. Get a new kit I think Greg v has them .

I rebuilt mines after 120k on them and really, that is no overkill. The rubber is all the way through and cleaning it only helped for a little while.

By rebuilding them you ensure even pad wear and that they do not stick the pad to the rotor.

Also having a look at the pistons won't hurt, they can be pretty bad for no apparent reason.
