Thread: I need a motor!

Hello everyone, a couple days ago the motor in my nx blew. My question is does anyone have any opinions of places to buy a replacement at a good price? I have used the search button amd every time i just get a blacklist of where not to buy. I do need to order one asap seeing as my car is my dd. I appreciate all help/ideas in advanced.

Where are you located is the main thing since this is a world wide forum...Define blown, rod throw block, rod knock, HG leak, or dropped a valve. Somethings are fixable quickly.

Im located in new hampshire. We tore it apart real quick and from what we saw it has at least 4 bent valves, the timing chain guides or whatever u feel like calling them all broke so theres a nasty sound coming from my timing chain, the head gasket is blown and theres a nasty clank sound coming from the bottom end that we didnt bother to find out what was causing it. The motor is high milage so to me its not really worth spending 4-500 to fix when thats roughly what i can get another low milage one for around the same price.

GEeSus... ya new engine time. Sorry down here in TX, shipping is too much for an engine to New Hampshire, Try finding a newer 2000 G20 engine and just redo some wiring.

Im kinda stuck btwn a rock and a hard place on this one cuz i have enough money to do a plain and simple direct motor swap but i dont have nearly enough to buy a new car thats worth buying cuz up here finding a nice b13 is REALLY hard. Im also not in any position to get a loan for a new car but i need my car cuz im a full time college student and currently am working 6 days a week lol so i really just need to find the cheapest way out as much as i dont want to and unfortunately i love my car way too much to get rid of it cuz of something stupid like this.

I got the engine in my NX now (lowport) off craigslist with 98k on it. Came from a 97 200SX SE-R. There wasn't really any problems installing. Had to pull a couple wires a few inches from here to there, and there's one sensor you won't use on the intake mani. Easy as pie man.

Thats good to know but i searched all over craigslist and there was nothing. Everything on cl was for a specv but im gonna keep checking thanks for the advice

ur welcome. just use 200sx, 200 sx, se-r, ser, sr, sr20, sr20de, nx, nx2000, nx 2000, or g20 as your key words when you search.
