Floating rocker arms dont like to be pounded off the rev limiter for extended periods straight especially on stock valvetrain.

I guess calum removed the rev limiter on this ECU. Just wondering, is it possible the timing chain jumped a tooth?

not likely, if the rev limiter is removed then it most definitely probably overreved and threw the rocker. Like I said, pretty easy fix man. They can check cam timing with the valve cover off to make sure its good but not likely to skip timing. SR's are not known for that unless your tensioner is very bad and weak. Easy to check, put at tdc with #1 cam lobes facing away from each other, dowell pin on exhaust should be pointing at 12 oclock, dowel on intake at 10 oclock, 20 chain link pins between the dots on the gears. That simple.

coupler and vac leak wont make it sound like a wrx. Wrx is with either weak cylinders from broken ring lands or in this case a dead cylinder due to a thrown rocker arm.

I just gotta say, i love how it's always referred to as sounding like a WRX or a Subaru. What do Subaru guys say when their cars sound funny?
