Thread: Filters and Oil

What is everybody using?

Oil:
I was using Mobile 1 syn but from everything I was reading they changed their formula because of emissions. After that I read that Castrol from Germany was the stuff to go with. Also heard Rotella T.

Filters:
I have been using Mobile M1-108 and it seems to be working pretty well but is there something better? Maybe K&N/Wix/OEM form the dealer?

Additives:
You guys using any Additives? I will usually toss in a quart of Lucas oil stabilizer. I also saw they have a syn based Lucas now.

I just changed out with Rotella T 15w-40 and a quart of Lucas

Castrol Edge syn with Wix filters change every 5 thousand miles.

Rotella T6 5w40 is probably the best bang for the buck in oil at the moment.

I prefer Wix over the various champion labs filters (K&N, Mobil 1, Bosch, etc.)



Meh, all that stuff does is excessively thicken the oil while diluting the additive package.

yeah Wix is a European spec filter plus they run them in NASCAR. There is not a better 5- 6 dollar filter made.

So I guess I am tossing the Mobile completely. Wix prevent drain back too right?

it has the drain back valve in place.

where can you buy a wix filter and rotella oil??
