Alternator pulley rough to spin?
Well I went to start up my b13 today and it started smoking like crazy and ended up snapping the belt (it was bad anyway, already have a replacement) I went to spin the alternator pulley and it doesn't spin freely.. Time for a new alternator?

I would just pick up a low miles one from Miko for around $60. If it's locking up, something is wrong, and it's probably not worth fixing if it is old anyways. There are rebuild kits for some alts but I have yet to find one for our cars. If I found a kit, I would only take the alt apart if the whole thing could be rebuilt.
