Thread: pedal clutch doesnt return

well , Iam about to finish the clutch install, the only thing weird is that when I press the pedal clutch this doesn't return at least I pull the clutch cable from the braket in the transmision. The clutch cable is tighten to the maximium
Im thinking that is the release bearing ...

Your release bearing must not be in place. I've seen it happen before and we had to pull tranny out. Make sure it's fully attach to the 2 clips.

Did you reuse your old clutch cable? Before you go pulling the trans off again to check the throwout bearing, make sure you get a fresh clutch cable on their that is adjusted properly. Last time I did my clutch I had to get a new cable, mine was so stretched that it wasn't even thinking about disengaging the clutch.

If it is a new cable, insure you received the correct size one. I got an extra long one by mistake one time, same symptoms.

I pull of the tranny and the release bearing is in his place with the clips.
Maybe is the pressure plate release levers, in the pp from sr20 are more HIGH than the sentra 1.8 clutch... look the image.

i dunno if i wrong for this but why would you get a 1.8 one instead of a 2.0 one

why would you put the wrong pressure plate in your car?

Well, they both fit , but judging by the pics the PP fingers are lower on the 1.8 than the 2.0.....He may have bought it because the 1.8 is less priced IIRC, but they both fit...

even if it fits, what good is it if it won't work? I've always been the "do it right the first time" kind of guy, and to that end I would never try to go 'cheaper' by using a clutch from a different car. There's a reason it's different. Even if nobody here knows what it is, I bet there's a reason for the difference in appearance, finger heights, and number of fingers.

easy man, easy , in some autoparts stores, both clutch kits have the same part number. Both clutch kit are equal, the problem that I had must been a bad release bearing installation. Ask to some mexicans veterans from the forum users without dash.
I dont have that problem anymore.
