Or it could be.........driver error...? I bet not since you seem to know your shit lol. This is a sumper though, but check your adjustment. Have you checked to see if the imput shaft wiggles? On the one josh and me pulled form my car, that whole shaft shaked lie a bitch with your hand, wonder if it can be putting pressure on it when stoping, going, cornering, and just causing to much stress on the clutch.

Me too, but i can barely get it to move. The trans is more willing to slide across the garage floor rather than the input shaft move. Which sucks, cause that would explain it.

I'm going to take my caliper to the dowel pins and see what they measure to, and also measure the holes for them in the block and trans. Maybe that will shed some light on it.

On another note, after sending photos of that clutch disc to ACT they've offered to inspect the clutch for free (usually $50) and, if possible, re-hub it for $35. Personally I don't think the disc will be in good enough shape for that, but I'll let them decide that.

I'm interested to hear what they think. I still rekon the centre metal is far too soft.

I mean when you think about it, people break casings, blow gears, driveshafts, CV's etc before they strip splines usually.

I too have read the stories, but the Honda cars we race in SCCA have never had an issue with ACT clutches, so I decided to try one. In no way am I blaming the clutch, im blaming my alignment.

Personally I'm glad the clutch was destroyed this easily before any damage could have started on the transmission/input shaft, even if that risk was remote.

BTW, does anyone know the proper dimensions of the dowel pins?

I just looked through the transaxle section of the FSM and found no mention at all of the pins

Well usually the pins are so tight that there's no real way to lose them, and taking them out requires a vise-grip pliers. Mine came out by hand so I'm feeling like they're a bit worn down, but with no reference to their actual size I'm not sure.

I didn't find anything except other people asking the same thing when I searched. Maybe if someone could give a definitive answer, anyone looking to replace them can do so with ease.
