Considering it's a stock engine, I'm confident ruling out a harmonic issue, and if the clutch was indeed wrong then a replacement will solve the issue anyway.

If anyone has any other ideas on how/why this is happening let me know, I really don't want to do this again because of a lack of insight. I'm going out and replacing every single bell housing bolt and motor mount bolt, the dowel pins, and the 6 pressure plate mounting bolts before a new clutch goes in. If you can think of anything else to check let me know!

^^ I was wondering the same thing. I doubt the loose bolts are the issue. I have driven around on 245wtq hard shifting with 2 or 3 bolts missing altogether and had no issues.

I feel like the issue may be in the transmission. Has it ever been rebuilt or taken apart? I wonder if the input shaft bearing is bad. I suspect mine is going bad and have noticed it makes a grinding sound when going around corners. Maybe yours is so bad the shaft is moving on corners and causing miss alignment?

I checked the shaft and it's fine, virtually no wiggling. Transmission also turns easily with no noises or weird resistance by hand. I've never taken it apart, and I dont think Chris101 did either before I bought it from them.

to answer dan's thoughts, it's an oem cable I replaced last year when I put the new trans in. The more I think on that, though, a cable tension issue would cause issues with the friction surface getting destroyed rather than the splines, wouldn't it?

This is a very stock engine, in just to keep the car moving while the other engine is built. I put in a clutch that will be able to handle the power of a turbo build with the intention of moving it over after I finish it. I don't see why I'd have a stock engine start destroying clutches unless somewhere there was an alignment issue between the trans and the block. Also after a new trans was put in between the first 2 spring disc failures and it's still got issues, I'm starting to rule out the transmission as a source of the problem. I'm baffled.

So this is the first clutch issue with this transmission? and the first two were on another trans? I am also baffled. Which transmission bolts were loose?

Transmission #1 saw 2 discs, original and the first to have a spring pop out.
Transmission #2 saw 2 discs, the 2nd spring popout and this current disc.

The bolts that were loose were the 2 on the top of the rear motor mount, the bottom front bolt, and the 2 smaller ones facing the engine/crossmember on the bottom.

I guess it must have been the bolts... It's strange though, the dowel pins are what really center the transmission. They are so tight, its hard to imagine the tranny moving without coming all the way off of one of the pins.

something seems fishy.. to have the same problems (or similar) over an over theres gotta be something wrong some where.. my money was on the transmission but if its had similar probs with 2 trans then idk.. im lost on this one..

Dan, i Seriously doubt that has Anything to do with it bud.. think about how the clutch works, bein over/under tight has nothing to do with popping springs or stripping the splines

Its always the thing u least suspect. And always the most retarded thing as well.
