back to stock, terrible mpg now
so i just finished removing my turbo fuel parts last night
i installed the oem fuel rail, injectors, maf and ecu.

everything is oem now
my gas mileage is horrible, i went from 28mpg with the jwt fuel setup running n/a, to 16mpg on the oem setup.

i also cant get past 4-5grand under load, without breaking up bad, sounds timing related

i can hear exhaust popping when i left off the gas or shift

i checked my timing (yes i can read the marks right) and im around 0 degrees tdc
i tried putting the car in timing mode but as soon as i unplug the tps engine speeds up to 2,000 rpm.

on top of this my engine speed surging from 1000 to 1500. and i tried setting the idle speed per the fsm, but even in idle set mode with the idle screw turned all the way in, the idle is still 2grand with the tps unplugged

i think the iacv is messed up, maybe i cleaned it wrong and rebuilt it at one point but i cant find a diagram of it

just get the engine speed down to 800 and try to set the timing like that. it won't be 100% but it will be better than 0 lol

i cant get it down, lowest i can get it is 1 grandish, when i try the idle speed set technique, the part where u unplug the tps and start the car, my idle speed sticks at 2 grand, upon restarting the car

Sounds to me like your ecu is blown? Is it a stock ecu or chipped? Do your radiator fans come on all the time, even when cold?

stock ecu, my rad fans arent connect im still running the slim fans i had this same problem through with the jwt ecu and oem one

in regards to lowering the idle speed with the tps unplugged i pinched the idle bypass hose and this lowered the speed to, is this ok to do to set timing?

If its going to give you around 800 rpm then yeah for to get it running better but that would not be a for sure fix. I had to set mine not in timing mode on my B13 and it runs great

Yes. It won't go into timing mode so I had to do it that way. Checked it on a computer and was fairly accurate

how did you set it while not in timing mode, just turned the distributor?
