Thread: "Paraut" Water Pump??

Hey guys. So I bought a new water pump from Greg at Gspec performance expecting to be OEM since that is the picture on the site.

Water Pump, SR20, Water pump for the SR20 motor.DE and VVL, but NOT GTI-R.

Well I received the water pump and to my surprise it was a "Paraut" pump. like this one http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41V-s3MdX8L.jpg except with no gasket (I think our cars dont need a gasket in the WP just sealant so no problem). Just to clear things up, I am not bashing on Greg or Gspec but Im trying to find out if "Paraut" makes the OEM pumps for Nissan since its a Japanese company or if the real OEM ones have Nissan stamped on it....

The OEM just have a stamp on them for the main production run in most cases. After so many years of replenishment it will come in a Nissan bag or box.

Its most likely the factory one.

Paraut" makes the OEM pumps for Nissan

mine did and so did the napa rep[lacement at one point, but that pic looks like the same quality OEM pump

its all about the bearing.It can look however it wants.
I want a japanese bearing in there

Every Nissan one I got ever came in a Nissan box with the part# on it and the hamburger logo cast into it.

I am just saying MY experience.I cant say anything bad a bout greg,he has always been great to deal with over the years.
GregV is a straight up dude and has no reason to send you a knockoff part.
I would have to see 100 percent cold hard proof before I would believe that.

Yea, Paraut is the builder for Pumps for Nissan , Toyota as well as others .... The Toyota pumps we get from Paraut look 100% like the OE pump but with the "Toyota" ground off ... We use them in all the water pump jobs we do if they are available ...never seen an issue or warranty with one that I can remember ....
