Took off the VC to check if there's anything wrong there, but it's very clean, and none of the parts are gone or damaged. Hell, even the cam-lobes look almost look like new!

Other than that:

Injectors all firing
Spark is good (not excellent, I must say, but the ignition has all new parts, so it should be ok)
Compression was good

I'm definately giving up. Next stop: Putting in the VE. Gonna take a while tho

do the injector test... Un clipped the injector clips one by one and see if the engine changes in idle.. if nothing happens on the third cylinder then its a bad injector.. If its a dead wire or spark plug then you can just pull one spark plug wire at a time and see if the engine changes in any way. Once again if nothing happens in that cylinder then like i said its one of the three wire spark plug or injector

im willing to bet the problem is something you've already "looked over"

if its getting spark and the compression in the cylinder is good i really think it maybe an injector OR possibly wiring between the injector an ecu.. worst case would be the ecu itself.. its not a good thing if you have been driving around like this for a long time..

swap the injectors around, take the #3 injector an swap it for the #1 injector an see if the problem goes to #1, IF #3 is still not working then if you can try swapping the injector plug wire between 2 an 3 an see if that makes any changes..

i've seen this problem a million times, especially for some reason the #3 injector likes to stop working, not sure why but i've seen it on atleast 3 sr20's an a ga16

What were the compressions? you said they were good but what were they ?

@ Lynch: We have tried switching the injectors, actually. Hell, we even put in a fuel rail from an SR20DE we KNEW ran perfectly smooth! Haven't tired switching the wires though, do they come off easily?

@ P10: Compression was around 10 Bar on all cilinders (that's around 145 PSI for you Americans :P), it's an EDM 10:1 CR SR20DE we're talking about.

you might have to take the plastic shielding stuff off to pull a little extra wire out so you can swap #2 an #3 cylinders

145psi is way low for a 10:1 motor. Good comp for a 9.5:1 is around 165, 10:1 should be higher. Doesn't account for your problem, but still....

thats bad comp even for a 9.5 motor. mine have always been in the 170s an they were usdm.. my friends jdm de put down 180 on all 4 with severe rod knock lol

Hmm, might have missed something then...

Guy who tested it thought they were good numbers, tho.

Oh well, she only needs to do one more drive with this motor, after that she'll get a VE. I kinda gave up trying to find out what was wrong.

hopefully the ve dont have the same issue.. then it would mean wiring harness or ecu
