Broken A/C bolt near firewall-How do I remove it?
Basically I ended up snapping the bolt that attaches the low pressure hose to the firewall. The bolt snapped in half. How the heck do I remove it without having to pull the motor? There is a metal piece where the low pressure line bolts into that has two bolts.

Can I just remove that piece and be able to drill out the broken bolt? Has anyone done this before without having to resort to pulling the motor? I'd like to get my A/C back in order ASAP.

EDIT: Ok so from the diagram it looks like the bolt snapped off into the evaporator. The highlights bolt is the one that snapped.

I fixed the problem already. Basically on the b15 there is a bracket between the lines and the actual expansion valve. The bracket was held on by a phillips screw and once that was removed (pain in the ass due to location), the expansion valve was held in by 2 allen head bolts. I drilled out broken bolt and retapped the hole and reinstalled it.

Removal of the expansion valve CAN be done from the engine bay, it's just tricky to get leverage but it's possible.

My A/c blows cold again! WOOOO!
