Grind when downshift into 2nd
The clutch cable went out on my bros b14 so I replaced it and now it grinds when you down shift into 2nd but if you go from 1st-2nd it doesn't grind at all.. What's the deal here?

Upshift requires the gear to slow down (which the motor is naturally doing when you push the clutch in), downshift requires the gear to speed up which is opposite and puts more stress on the syncro which is obviously worn.

Assuming a new cable was put in an properly adjusted ?

I'm assuming it probably grinds going into reverse too. Just try tightening up the tension on the cable.

The cable is adjusted fine. I installed it and adjusted it. The thing is even if I rev match it still grinds....

The clutch is not fully releasing. Push the clutch pedal to the floor when shifting if you don't already. If you're already pushing it to the floor, then you need to shorten the cable some with the adjuster. If the cable is all the way shortened, you need a spacer on the bracket or the Andreas Miko tranny bracket.

It's all the way shortened. I didn't even leave any freeplay lol I'll have to take a look at how much it moves compared to mine and see if its different.

Sounds like you need a spacer then. Or the cable is actively stretching.
