Thread: B15 axle

Has anyone replaced a passenger axle on a B15? For manual transmissions, I ordered a Cardone axle for LSD (as I have a LSD trans). They also sell a non LSD axle. Is there a difference for the passenger side?

The LSD passenger axle I received was too big to fit into the trans. And the hub side, YIKES!!!, it was a good 1/4" too big to fit through the hub! I was under the impression all hubs on B15's were the same size.

So, if this is the LSD passenger axle, what cars would use this axle?

I'm going to order a Empi non-lsd axle this time.

they probably ordered the wrong axle. I believe the passenger axle is the same for both lsd and non lsd models. No way it should be too big. They might have ordered you one for an 02 with the qr25. The hubs are the same size on all of them as well. But yeah the part going into the trans will be a lot bigger if its for the QR25 equipped cars. Sounds like they messed up.

Passenger side is super easy. FWIW, my '99 P11 axle spindle is too big to fit into the B15 hub but both the P11 and B15 axles fit in the differential.

If it doesn't work out, I have both axles for an '00 LSD B15. Boots haven't torn yet, but need to be replaced soon. Otherwise, they are just fine.

I'm ordering a raxle. I already have a drivers side one.

yeah they had to of screwed up your order or something is wrong in their system.

Jeff, I have some spare axle that came off my car so I know it will work on your car.

Keo, I need the driver's side if Jeff doesn't need it. We still need to meet up and swap.
