Like they said, pull up ads of ones in similar condition and get the prices that way. They no way reflect the kbb or nada book values. Especially for clean ones without rust.

just argue with them. if you bitch enough you will get it. i got 2200$ for a broken headlight and bent hood just a few months ago and they didnt total the car.

When my car got totalled a year and a half ago they were trying to compare it to the lowest priced NX's they could find. They couldnt give me any information about the cars they were using (miles, model, transmission etc). I spent hours online finding comparable models and I was finally able to argue my way from $2000 to $3000. They are really assholes and its very frustrating. My car was a 92 NX2000 with 103k.

Insurance companies can be a hassle... When they had to pay me for my injuries I had to wait a year before I finally got nearly 4k =\

I agree just argue with them and do not settle. You might want to see a chiropractor once they see medical they usually want to settle faster. Granted it is going to take a long time if they fight you.

UPDATE:

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions!

After three days, 20 odd emails, numerous phone calls, they have agreed to revaluate the car, and as of right now, based on verbally communication it looks like it will come out to be around $2600.

I also get to buy it back for $400, so I’ll be able to take of a few things for a part out.

If you took some time to look around, you could buy a pretty damn clean SE-R/NX2K for 3K give or take. So that is pretty reasonable.
