I mean, if you're going to do a rebuild. If you're just taking it apart for kicks (or to replace 5th gear) then you only need sockets and snap ring pliers.

just slap it on tell its broke. cheapest way if it goes, find a local salvage yard to pull another transmission out and swap that over. i have a local yard here that at the moment it is has 2+ manual b14 tranny's sitting in unmolested cars.

must be nice. pick and pulls aren't easy to come by in my area. and if they are, there's way more honda's and domestics than nissans lying around. so it's slim pickin's.

a rebuild will be worth it if done for cheap. otherwise, slapping it on first then let it get broke will be the best option for now until i get the funds.
