I was reading on Summit Racing the differences, and the MT90 does not have any LSD additive, while the Shockproof DOES have it. I was under the impression that since we DO have LSDs in our car, that the shockproof would be a better buy. Can anyone shine some light on that subject? I'm replacing my trans soon w/ a B15 and I am curious what to run.

The only noticeable downside is a thick syrup feel when quite cold and the first shift from 1st to 2nd is a bit touchy (grinds a little or a bunch depending on your style of shifting) in the morning even when moderately cold. The first shift is a little rough also because particles in the Heavy fluid settle overnight.
It sounds like you'll be okay though.

Our LSDs are sealed units right? What ever fluid we use has no bearing on its operation right?
If that is not the case, MT-90 is still the right choice for 75-95% of owner's LSD additive or no. Heavy likely needs the LSD friction modifier to allow some friction because of how slippery it is. MT-90 has plenty of friction modifiers on its own and I wouldn't think it would need anything special for LSDs. LSDs need a healthy amount of friction to work just like synchros and MT-90 would be my choice for a non-sealed LSD as well.

I ran heavy for the last 5 years. Never had issues with grinding in the cold ever. And I lived in northern WA.

That is very good to know. I appreciate the info. I think that's what I'm going to drop into my b15 trans when I do the swap.

I put a qt of heavy shockproof in with remainder being mt90.
I found that straight mt90 tends to get very thin when driving at 120+mph for extended times. So i put the qt of heavy in.

Yeah, this is in a daily driven VE. 120+ isn't likely all that much. From time to time maybe, but not often.
