Thread: g20 engine noise

i just recently purchased a 94 g20t . ive already replaced the distributor with the crank sensor built in, and the starter. but now its making a weird noise coming from the left side of the engine. sounds like metal pinging(when i am accelerating you hear it alot more, but at idle it is still noticeable) . i brought it over to the shop to have them take a look. ( i thought it was the water pump or pulley going, but it's not) even they dont have a clue what or where the sound is coming from. could it be the timing chain or belt tensioner? any help would be helpful

Is it only when your car is cold?or first start it up?are you burning oil?check condition of spark plugs.change the oil and thoroughly check the drain bold for metal shavings

what kinda gas you use.try some gas treatment as well
