You can look at the axle all you want, Its the passenger side axle. It probably broke right where it goes into the trans, very common when wheel hop occurs, You wont be able to see it so just remove the axle and i bet you the splined part stays in the trans and you will have a broken end. I will put money on it. Been doing this for a long time.

If the clutch still operates fine and its not making any noises when it just free revs and it tries to move slightly when in gear, that is the vlsd trying to do all the work and it cant really move the car. You lost your main drive axle, passenger side. Your trans is fine.

I just did this to my pside axle and it sounds exactly like your symptoms. It would still move but barely and the clutch still worked just fine.

Thats more likely to happen while turning though not on a straight line drag race launch. Im surprised it popped it out past the C clip. Nice. lol

So my tranny should be fine then hopefully. Wouldn't it make noise when I rev the engine because it would still be turning that axle even though it's broken? So is there really nothing that could break in the trans to have these kind of symptoms?

anythings possible just look at your axles before you go dropping the trans. Put it on jackstand and have one of your friends are something put it in gear and look at your axles when its in gear.

It takes all of about 15 minutes at the most to remove the passenger side axle. No it would not make noise. It would have pushed the main part of the axle away enough and the other side would slide in more enough to where no contact is made anymore.

With what your describing. There is nothing else it could be.

If you broke the input shaft on the trans or stripped the splines on the disk, you would hear noise. The car would not even try to move. Its the axle dude. Stop messing around and just take the passenger side axle out and be done.

Just wondering, can the car still go in any gear and not stall, if this happens?

I'm having about the same issue (and I KNOW my passenger axle is bad, on the hub side). But, after replacing the clutch disc and pp, the car would only move slightly. But, my car won't stall out.

yes, it wont stall out because there is no load being put back on the engine because the diff is spinning but not moving the main drive axle.

I havent had time to get down and greasy working 2 jobs and going to school but before I leave for my other job I just started it and put it in first with the handbrake yanked and wood blocks and I looked under the car (stock height) at the passenger axle and it wasnt moving at all. Now if it was broken at one of the cv joints wouldnt it be spinning since I put the car in gear? Could the output shaft to the axle have broken?
