im asking what harness you currently have. You may not need a new one.

Also, the engine doesn't care what transmission is on it, whether it's auto or stick the engine is exactly the same. So stop worrying about that. Putting a 5 speed on a car that used to be automatic doesn't mean you need to change the entire wiring harness.

In a nutshell, you have given us basically no useful information. What we really need is a better diagnosis of your problem, the year of your vehicle, the style of your engine (lowport or highport), and what conditions have changed from the car running without trouble to now. If you don't know any of what we're asking, or need procedures for troubleshooting, it's all here on the forum. Just check out the proper section or do an advanced search for what you want and you'll find it.

i know that about the trans and engine doesn't mean i have to change the wiring harness.
my engine is a low port. now what happened was i bought the car from my dad which received it because of a trade. when i looked at the wiring harness there is about 5 or 6 plugs on the wiring harness unplugged and i took it to a shop and the Nissan man said that he couldn't diagnose my vacuum leak because of the swap he said that the wiring harness doesn't go with my engine. i felt to see if my maf was sucking in air and its not getting much. my tail pipe has black smutt in it and you can smell the gas.

Hope all this helps

The 5 speed tranny doesn't have alot of the sensors that the auto did, so it's fine for all those plugs to not be used except for those two grey plugs you showed behind the intake mani, I couldn't tell what those were, need a better shot. Search this forum on how to check the maf and to reground it, look for vacuum leaks, then after you have done that, post your results and we can help further. We can't just pick a diagnoses out of the sky and say "THATS IT!!"

I was in the parking lot and i started my car and unplugged the maf and it sounded soo much better then it did unplugged. i plugged it back up looked at the ground wire for the maf and realized that it was grounded to the negative battery terminal. Could that be doing it?
