wow,entertaining thread.
There actually is some good info here amongst the pissing match,LOL

I would have never thought there was a difference from B13-B14 as far as removing the alt.
I know I have replaced my alt in an NX w/a/c on the side of the road before without removing the water neck.I have done it a couple times, actually.
You have to rotate it exactly to the right angle and position. Its like it only goes through one way.It must be the a/c lines being different that changed that as Will stated.
One time I was wrestling it and about to give up...and then it came out.
...just another reason B13 is better than B14...LOL J/K

I keep thinking about this, when it's light out I'm going to try to take some pics.

I feel like there are slights differences in the radiator and fan position, the a/c lines and compressor. Is the radiator support closer in a b14 and b13? I'm gonna go take some measurements, be back later.

And one BIG factor about MY CAR is that I take mine out the bottom.

All I have to do is take out two bolts and it falls right out the bottom.

i was just wondering if you have that ground running to your water neck i actualy found my ground wire that runs with the alt. wires not even hooked up.......

Yeah I don't even remember where it goes. I think it's just connected to a ground spot don the chassis where a bunch of smaller wires are grounded. I dewired my car a couple years ago.

it hooks up by the 2 white wires there should be a 10mm bolt over there that is used for that ground and you def need to hook it up if you dont have another ground coming off the alternator already

The white wires go from the alt to the battery.
