Spark plug Wire
Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with the Magstar plug wire sets from Advanced Auto parts. Ive been running a set since February then i had a cylinder go out and had changed motor. Yesterday I had my car on the dyno and we could not get it to rev any higher then 3700 rpm under load. After checking the cap, rotor, plugs and coil we couldnt find anything. After cutting our loses for the day we pulled the car off the dyno and just for the shit of it we put a set of stock wires on and took it for a drive. Did a couple pulls and found the dam wires where causing my problem all along. Advanced said they would replace them but i think I'm going to keep the stock ones in. So if anyone has a problem like this check the wire first i should have.

Nissan's hate cheap plug wires. On my other vehicles I went through 4 different sets before I broke down and bought an OEM set and I never had an issue until the t chain slipped lol.

When I got my current car that was the first thing I did was buy a set of OEM wires. I've got close to 40k on them now and I've never had an issue. I actually bought a set off here brand new for something like 40 bucks shipped.

Dunno if he's still selling them but I bought them from this thread:

Ahaha I had a set from autozone, when I was checking my spark plugs the cylinder 1 plug wire pulled right out of the socket. Luckily I kept the old wire set!

That is really common on the aftermarket wires.

The only thing better then OEM is a company called Ultra Wire. They can be purchased via GB or used from Miko.

+1 for OEM plug wires.
208k miles on original OEM plug wires on my n/a 93 se-r.
I clean them up every year or 2.
Runs great, 163whp, avg ~36 mpg summer, ~32 mpg winter, mostly city.
